Woodspace Outdoor Cladding Edge Trim is used to finish exposed ends of the cladding, covering both the panel edge and the battens behind it for a clean, finished look. The trim is made wider than the cladding panel so it can fully hide the batten structure at the back, not just the panel itself.

How to Install

Edge trim is installed along the exposed ends of the cladding to create a clean, finished edge. Once the battens are in place, the edge trim is positioned over the cladding edge so it covers both the panel and the battens behind. It is then fixed securely into the battens using outdoor screws before the cladding installation is completed.

Disclaimer

This tool gives you a good estimate, but it’s not always exact. If your wall height is taller than one panel, it may suggest an extra full panel per row, even if only a small piece is needed. Remember, panels can often be cut to fit multiple rows. Mixing panel sizes can also help reduce waste and cost.

Frequently asked questions

What is edge trim used for?

Edge trim is used to finish exposed ends of the cladding, hiding both the panel edge and the battens behind it for a clean, finished look.

Why is outdoor cladding edge trim wider than the cladding panel?

Because it needs to cover the battens behind the cladding. The wider size ensures the full edge, including the batten structure, is hidden

Where should edge trim be installed?

Edge trim is used on exposed ends of cladding, such as wall edges or terminations where the cladding does not return into a corner or another wall.

Can edge trim be cut to size?

Yes. Edge trim can be cut to length using standard cutting tools suitable for composite materials.

How is edge trim fixed?

Edge trim is fixed through the face into the battens using appropriate outdoor screws. Pre-drilling is recommended for a neat finish.
