Product materials and care

Acouwood® brings the best of natural timber into your interiors. Our panels are crafted from eco-friendly materials, featuring an acoustic felt made from recycled materials. The slats have an MDF core with a real timber veneer. For cleaning, use a duster, a vacuum, or a slightly damp cloth. Please note: Real timber may exhibit slight colour variations, light knots, timber joins, cracks, and surface inconsistencies. It's also expected that continuous exposure to direct sunlight will cause minor colour changes, and prolonged exposure to moisture may cause the timber to warp. These characteristics are typical of real timber, but they also contribute to the natural beauty and timeless appeal.

Disclaimer

This tool gives you a good estimate, but it’s not always exact. If your wall height is taller than one panel, it may suggest an extra full panel per row, even if only a small piece is needed. Remember, panels can often be cut to fit multiple rows. Mixing panel sizes can also help reduce waste and cost.

Frequently asked questions

How do the acoustic wood panels arrive?

Acouwood® comes in carefully packaged cardboard boxes. They come in standard sizes of 2700mm (2.7m) and can be cut down to the wall size, installed horizontally or in a patterned structure. They typically fit most walls up to 2900mm (2.9m), as they are typically installed between the skirting boards and ceiling architrave cornices.

Do the panels come in larger sizes?

Panels are designed to join width-ways and long ways seamlessly for any length or width. It’s super simple to join panels - just place them next to each other and nail or glue into the wall.

Do you produce custom panel sizes?

Our panels can easily be cut or joined for different sizes.

Custom sizes are only offered for orders in excess of 20 panels (or 10.4 meters of panels) up to a height of 3.5m. Please note that custom orders have a lead time of 2 - 3 months.

Please reach out to support@woodspace.com.au for a custom quote and order timeframe.

Can I install Acouwood® Max in wet areas? (eg. Kitchen and Bathroom)

Panels are fine in these areas if not in direct contact with water. Although Acouwood® Max provides water-resistance and makes it completely splash-resistant.

We recommend choosing our Waterproof products - SlatWall Pro and SlatWall Lite for bathroom and waterprone areas.

Can the panels be used outside?

Acouwood wall panels are designed for indoor use only, or enclosed outdoor areas not exposed to the elements or direct sunlight.

On which surfaces can I install the panels?

Acouwood® panels can be mounted on all surfaces (walls, ceilings and joinery), including gyprock, plywood, brick, concrete, plasterboard. They can be installed on wall and ceiling battens with the recommended gap of less than 600mm. Note: If installed on battens, the panels are for decorative purposes only and not load bearing, so they should not be subject to any weight.
